Design has allowed me to merge two complimentary spheres of thought: the fine arts and the rigor of science.
And like most other practitioners of the soft sciences, I’m most at home in a constant state of discovery and learning.

I am interested in design as the creation of human artifact, visuals that resonate with a certain time and place and how to also make those lasting memoirs of the culture that created them.  My design methodology is heavily influenced by my global upbringing, hours spent in the basements of public libraries, and having “collectors” for parents to give me a foundation of fascination with life.

I began my academic design journey at Western Washington University where I graduated first in my class, receiving a national scholarship to attend and have work showcased at the UCDA Conference in Montreal, Quebec courtesy of the j. Charles Walker + John Brett Buchanan Foundation. I have also been fortunate to receive multiple features in publications and online.

After relocating to San Francisco, I pursued an internship at SALT branding where I worked on visual campaigns for large scale clients such as Logitech and Pearson. I then worked full time for UNIT partners, on intensive branding ventures for a wide range of  clients  including  the Ronald McDonald House and Stones Throw.

Design is the largest facet of my life, but I’m also a devoted yoga practitioner, cook-in-training, crafter, traveller, and I run a food and design blog with writers from across the country.  I hope to incorporate civic, environmental, event, and publication design into my forthcoming adventures.
